Original vintage illustrated map of Expo 58, the celebrated 1958 Brussels World’s Fair.
This wonderfully detailed period piece presents the Expo grounds in a playful, highly decorative graphic style. The map features illustrations of many of the fair’s most important landmarks, national pavilions and attractions, with the Atomium prominently depicted at the centre.
Among the locations identified are the Belgian section, Grand Palais, France, USA, USSR, United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, the Holy See and numerous other participating countries and attractions. The original Expo 58 star-and-globe emblem appears throughout the composition.
The lower section is marked “Modèle Déposé 13408”, adding an interesting detail to this authentic period souvenir.
A particularly attractive piece of Expo 58 memorabilia, combining architecture, graphic design and Belgian cultural history. Presented in a simple black frame with a white surround, ready for display.
