Original vintage Belgian poster from 1958, produced in connection with the legendary Expo 58 in Brussels and the Quinzaine de la Courtoisie campaign.
The wonderfully graphic composition depicts a smiling Brussels public transport conductor surrounded by stylised yellow trams and trolleybuses. Carrying a bag decorated with the Expo 58 star, the conductor encourages passengers with the slogan “Avec le sourire, aidez le passager”.
The striking turquoise, yellow, black and pink colour palette, combined with the playful illustration and typography, makes this a fantastic example of 1950s Belgian graphic design.
A particularly decorative and evocative piece of Brussels transport and Expo 58 history, ideal for collectors of vintage posters, public transport memorabilia and mid-century design.
