Tikar Ceremonial Mask – Cameroon

This authentic African ceremonial mask originates from the Tikar people of Cameroon. Carved from solid wood, the mask features a strong, expressive face with a pronounced nose, narrow eyes, and an open mouth showing carved teeth. The surface shows a rich, naturally aged patina, the result of time, ritual use, and handling.

Along the perimeter, the mask is finished with traditional stitched leather bindings, a characteristic detail seen in Tikar masks, both functional and decorative. The interior shows clear hand-tool marks and an old handwritten label indicating its origin, further supporting its authenticity and age.

Mounted on a custom metal stand, this piece is ready to be displayed as a sculptural object. It works equally well in a contemporary interior, a collector’s cabinet, or as a statement piece in a design-focused space.
