An iconic original Cassina LC4 chaise longue, featuring striking brown-and-white hair-on-hide upholstery, commonly known as the “Pony” version. Its sculptural chrome-plated tubular frame rests on a black steel base, complemented by a black leather cylindrical headrest.
The curved frame allows the reclining angle to be adjusted, combining a distinctive architectural silhouette with comfort. The hide’s natural markings give this example its individual character.
Designed in 1928 by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, the LC4 is a landmark of modernist furniture. Its design places the reclining body at the centre of its form, expressing the designers’ belief that furniture should adapt to the person using it. Cassina brought the design to renewed international prominence in 1965, and it remains one of the manufacturer’s most recognisable pieces.
