Impressive extendable dining table by Hédem Team, designed and manufactured in Belgium during the 1980s.
Hédem Team was a Belgian furniture manufacturer founded in 1969, initially active in furniture distribution, lighting, interior decoration, exhibition stands and shop interiors. From 1982 onwards, the company focused entirely on furniture production. Hédem Team worked closely with interior architects and Belgian designers and exhibited several times at the prestigious Interieur Biennale in Kortrijk, including in 1972, 1978, 1982 and 1986. The company also collaborated with notable Belgian designers such as André Verroken and Roger Denis.
This substantial dining table is a great example of Belgian 1980s design, combining generous proportions with a clean, architectural appearance. The wooden construction features a warm natural finish, softly rounded ends, a rounded edge profile and distinctive solid legs.
One of the table’s most attractive features is its exceptionally versatile extension system. It comes with three individual 60 cm extension leaves, allowing the length to be adjusted depending on the occasion. Starting at 124 cm, the table can be extended to 184 cm, 244 cm or an impressive 304 cm at its maximum configuration.
With a generous width of 125 cm, the table provides plenty of space for dining and entertaining. Fully extended, it makes an impressive statement piece suitable for a large dining room, meeting room or conference setting.
The original Hédem Team – Design & Made in Belgium manufacturer’s label is still present underneath the table.
