About the artist
Cornelis Beniti was a Belgian painter, graphic artist and collagist, born in Mechelen in 1946. He studied at the Academy of Mechelen, RIKA Mechelen and the Academy of Hasselt. From 1970 onwards, he exhibited regularly and developed a distinctive artistic voice.
Beniti described his work as a form of lyrical expressionism. His compositions often combine intuitive gestures, layered structures and refined graphic elements. Balancing abstraction and emotion, his oeuvre reflects a continuous search for harmony between spontaneity and technical precision. His works appear regularly at auctions and are appreciated for their strong graphic identity and expressive power.
