Impressive decorative bronze sculpture depicting a mounted huntsman surrounded by a pack of hunting dogs. The rider carries a hunting horn and sits on horseback while controlling the hounds — a classic 19th-century sporting scene inspired by French animalier sculpture.
The composition is dynamic and detailed, showing excellent craftsmanship in the anatomy of both horse and dogs. The dark brown patinated bronze sits on an integrated base and makes a striking statement piece for an interior, office, library or classic country home décor.
Signed “P.J. Mène” on the base (after the famous French sculptor Pierre-Jules Mêne), produced in the traditional antique style.
